What are texting credits?

A texting credit is the cost of sending a text to a single recipient.

Depending on your Markit plan, the cost of single credit is as follows:

1. Free: Texting is completely free but limited to only 500 credits per month
2. Basic: 1.5 cents per credit
3. Creator: 1.25 cents per credit
4. Business: 1 cent per credit

How credits are calculated

A single text may use more than one credit. This is dependant on several factors:

1. Emojiis: Emojis automatically double the number of credit for any given message (however this is only doubled once).
2. Images: Attaching an image to your message wil automatically add 3 credits to your message’s credit count.
3. Message Length: If single credit message, 1 credit is 160 characters. If multiple credit message, 1 credit is 153 characters.

Does all texting cost credits?

Yes, all texting on Markit uses our credit system. This incldudes the following:

• Mass texts
• Scheduled texts
• Campaign and automation texts
• Follow texts
• Import contact texts
• Two-way texting conversations

Added Compliance Messages

For some texts in Markit, a mandatory compliance message may be included.

This additional default message may be added to a text when it is sent for the first time to a new recipient that is not in your audience. The appropriate number of characters will be added to the text message and may increase the credit count for these recipients.
