Troubleshooting
Fix common problems connecting an AI tool to Markit
"AI tools in Markit require the Essential plan or higher"
The full message reads: "AI tools in Markit require the Essential plan or higher. Upgrade your Markit plan, then try again."
AI tools need the Essential, Pro, or Business plan (or a free trial of one). Upgrade your plan in Markit, then go back to the consent screen and try again. You don't have to restart the connection from your AI tool as long as the request hasn't expired. Check out our pricing here.
"Your Markit subscription payment didn't go through"
The full message reads: "Your Markit subscription payment didn't go through. Update your payment method in Markit to keep using AI tools."
Update your payment method in Markit. AI tools start working again once the payment goes through.
"Your Markit subscription is paused"
The full message reads: "Your Markit subscription is paused. Resume it in Markit to use AI tools."
Resume your subscription in Markit, then try again.
"This connection request has expired"
Connection requests only last 10 minutes. Start the connection again from your AI tool, and approve it on the new consent screen.
Your AI tool asks you to sign in again
If you disconnected the app in Settings → MCP, its connector still appears in your AI tool but no longer has access. Sign in and approve again to reconnect, or delete the connector from your AI tool. See Disconnecting an AI tool.
"You're signed in to a different Markit account in another tab"
You switched Markit accounts in another browser tab while the consent screen was open. Refresh the consent screen, check the Connecting as account is the one you want, and approve again.
"You're viewing another account in admin mode"
Apps can't be connected while you're viewing another account in admin mode. Switch back to your own account, then approve the connection.
Your AI tool says it can't connect
- Check that the server URL is exactly
https://api.markitai.com/mcp. - Make sure you're using one of the AI tools on Connect your AI tool. Some AI tools can't connect to Markit yet.
- Remove the connector from your AI tool, add it again, and approve the new connection.
